CABLE REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

1- If the handset is plugged to the radio, it must be removed.
2- A visual inspection should be performed to check for any cracks or damage.
3- The handset should be disassembled using a suitable screwdriver to remove the 6 screws.
4- Some screws may have different lengths. Care should be taken to remember their positions and arrange them accordingly for reassembly.
5- As shown in the image, the front and rear covers should be separated. Care must be taken not to break the clips during this step.
6- The speaker and microphone connectors should be gently disconnected at this stage.
7- The old connectors of the handset cable should be carefully removed from the PCB socket.
8- The new handset cable connectors should be inserted into the PCB socket with attention to its orientation. It should not be forced or inserted the wrong way.
9- The cable grommet should be properly placed in its designated position in the casing.
10- The microphone and speaker connectors should be reconnected to their original positions.
11- The front and rear casings should be reassembled, ensuring that all clips are properly seated.
12- The same screws should be reinserted into their original locations. At this stage, avoid over-tightening the screws to prevent cracking the plastic components.
